TV’s Moments of Joy: Jon Hamm-O-Rama

The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret – Another season finale!  Last week we learned that Brent Wilkes, Todd’s “boss”, is only another ascended temp who is running the company into the ground.  With the Thunder Muscle sales becoming increasingly crucial to the survival of the company, Todd is desperate now.  How, desperate?  Well, he broke into Parliament this week to prove a point and everything spiraled out of control.  The police brought him back to his apartment, where Brent was having sex with Todd’s neighbor, various items were misconstrued, and Todd still failed to understand why he shouldn’t claim to be represented by the firm of Young & Knott Legal.  And then his (very Midwestern) father showed up – the father he claimed was from Leeds and recently deceased.  It was just an amazing scene where everything unraveled very quickly.  We don’t know if and when a second season is coming, but Todd still has nine days in England before he appears before the Magistrate, in the scene that opens every episode, and there’s the whole bit where he’s being framed by Turkish terrorists.  It’s magnificent.  And all that aside, David Cross pretending to be deaf is something you have to see to believe.
