This week’s episode, written and directed by series creator Matt Nix, had everything we look for in this show. Complicated crimes that Jack and Dan solve accidentally while working on a tangential case, classic rock, and Dan Stark being awesome. This episode had Jack interviewing for a prestigious position on a rapid-response strike team. As you can imagine, Dan didn’t take this well. And it turns out, Dan is hilarious when he’s petulant and melancholy. A great bit had him going through notes that Jack wrote him, notes like “Dan – please stop eating my breakfast yogurt. Jack.” (“He didn’t have to sign his name. He knew that I’d know who it was from…”) Of course, our favorite crimefighting team stayed together and all was well. Another fun episode from a deeply underrated show.
