TV’s Moments of Joy: Residual Pixie Dust

We even got a surprise appearance from Matthew McConaughey as the major league scout.  This short scene was the funniest McConaughey has ever been.  He gives Kenny a hilarious speech about his future prospects.  In the interest of keeping this safe for work, we won’t quote it directly, but it is amazing.

Saturday Night Live-The promise of a Jon Hamm-hosted SNL has quickly become a cause for celebration around these parts and, although this one wasn’t as completely awesome as the first two, there were still some great moments.  The monologue gave us Jon explaining that his role as Don Draper has made him a genius at coming up with advertising campaigns (which were all terrifically bad) and calling himself “The Hammer”, which we will use from this day forward.  The lost footage from Back to the Future auditions was perfect.  Pretty much every celebrity impression was gold, with Hamm’s wacky take on Robin Williams and Bill Hader’s eerie Alan Alda being the standouts.  The only thing really missing was a sketch that played on Hamm’s name as a food.
