TV’s Moments of Joy – The Best TV Shows on TV

Mr. Sunshine–Turns out Ben doesn’t know the names of almost any of his employees’, which doesn’t come in handy when the air conditioning is broken in an arena in San Diego.  He and Roman come up with series of acronyms to remember the names of every single person at The Sunshine Center, but they’re based on everyone’s worst attributes (Doug Miller: “Disgusting Moles”) and his cover is blown when Roman manages to place all his flashcards in front of a giant fan and they blow all over the arena.  Ben offers to let everyone rip on him in an “affinity circle”, but it goes horribly.  He almost wins them back with an ice cream party, but it’s uncomfortable and lame.  In other news, Crystal asks Alonzo and Alice to go on a double date with her and her boyfriend Darius, who she’s pretty sure Alonzo knows.  This outrages Alice because Crystal seems to be making huge racist stereotypes all day, while simultaneously growing an afro (she’s frizzy from the humidity).  Turns out, Alonzo and Darius Washington (a blonde guy Alonzo recognizes as “Rusty”) were fraternity brothers, which explains Crystal’s assumptions and talk of silly handshakes, houses littered with beer bottles and attending meetings.
