Archer – Just when we thought our love for Archer was at its maximum possible level, they give us an episode where Peter Serafinowicz (Running Wilde, Look Around You) guest-stars as a computer hacker with sexy ninja bodyguards. This episode also focused on comptroller Cyril (Chris Parnell), who hasn’t had much to do this season since he broke up with Lana. He was tricked by George Spelvin (Serafinowicz) into loading a virus onto the ISIS mainframe. Cyril thought he’d be able to stop it himself and look like a hero, but as usually happens with ISIS operations, it didn’t go as planned. By the way, the virus made a crudely-rendered pirate dance across the screen, which pretty much makes it the most entertaining virus ever. And we mentioned the sexy ninjas, right? Raising Hope–Every episode of this show is well done, but this was probably one of the best yet. After a pregnancy scare, Virginia has Jimmy trick Burt into going for a vasectomy. And only Raising Hope could somehow play a son shaving his father’s balls for surgery as a sweet and poignant moment. Lucas Neff (Jimmy) was great with all his reactions during this scene, especially when a drugged up Burt said that in a couple of weeks, he’d have a “prickly pear” and suggested there be places in the mall called “Bushwackers” that offered the service. In his medicated state, Burt told Jimmy he was the best thing that had ever happened to him, which surprised Jimmy and the two looked back fondly on their many, many games of Pull My Finger. Elsewhere, Virginia and Sabrina bonded over deep, dark secrets and arguably the best character from My Name is Earl, Crabman, turned up as the Gas Man! Well, it’s not really Crabman, just the actor, Eddie Steeples. We’ll take it, though.
great summary. I love Raising Hope and Modern Family. I can’t wait to see the breakout Kings you have wetted my appetite.
