TV’s Moments of Joy: The Dream Warriors

Memphis Beat–Here’s the show that brings Jason Lee back to TV, this time sans creepy Earl-stache.  Now he’s a streetwise Memphis detective who moonlights as an Elvis impersonator.  He has a close but potentially complex relationship with his mother (Celia Weston) and a begrudging respect for his new captain, played by Alfre Woodard.  The case in the pilot was not the most riveting (random guy mainpulates his way into the home of a Memphis radio legend in order to kill her son and fleece the old lady for her pension or something), but we got to see how Lee’s Dwight character works and I’m interested in seeing more.
