TV’s Moments of Joy: The Fife Corps

EJ: I always get a little embarrassed when people start talking about music, because I am so far out of the loop. I don’t have the kind of wide-ranging base that I do with TV or movies – instead, I have a few artists that I’m deeply obsessed with. I know something’s wrong with me, but I have either zero albums by any given artist or everything they’ve ever recorded. My tastes run to grizzled songwriters who look like they’ve seen some stuff – Warren Zevon, Leonard Cohen, and especially Tom Waits. There’s also a lot of Elvis Costello and David Bowie in there. If you told me to fill an iPod before I got stranded on an island, I’d start by putting every Tom Waits album on there, and then everybody else would fight it out for the remaining storage space.
