TV’s Moments of Joy: The Fife Corps
I like Barenaked Ladies quite a bit, and their song “Get In Line” was inspired by King of the Hill’s Dale Gribble, so that makes the list. Tom Waits’ “Way Down in the Hole” was the theme song for The Wire – I love the song anyway, but I can’t hear it now without seeing the opening credits to that show. I love J.G. Thirlwell’s soundtrack album for The Venture Bros., too. It’s almost a big-band sound, but sometimes it just goes crazy on you. I’ve got the Jeffster version of “Mr. Roboto” from Chuck, which is weird since I really don’t like the actual song. And there’s the entire “Nightman” suite from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Finally, I have a couple of tracks from Dethklok, the band from Metalocalypse. I’m not really a fan of death metal, and their lyrics are really hard to make out, so I limit myself mostly to the tracks with the funniest names, like “HatredCopter” and “I Tamper with Evidence at the Murder Site of Odin”.
