Eastbound & Down-After meeting Eduardo Sanchez last week, and finding out he was, in fact, Kenny’s dad, we got this whole episode to visit with him and his Mexican family. Turns out, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree at all, not that we’re surprised. Dad abandoned the Powers family when Kenny was nine, and he’s remarried and had another son down in Mexico. And Casper is an even dumber, grosser version of Kenny, if that’s possible. But Kenny’s convinced he’s bonding, even as he’s being set up by his dad for yet another con. On top of that, Dad’s as much of a fraud as Kenny, if not more so. And so we go from being utterly repulsed by Kenny last week, to actually feeling a little sorry for his being ultimately abandoned a second time in his life. Thank goodness for that goofball Stevie, who fessed up that April hadn’t actually married Cutler back at home, setting up a possible return to Shelby County. Kenny Powers is BACK, baby!
