–Brisby, obviously, is a deranged version of Walt Disney. I really appreciate they didn’t just go with the “Walt is cryogenically frozen” parody angle, since that’s really played out. Brisby is one of those character designs that invokes Jackson Publick’s previous job on The Tick. The facial expressions and even the clenched teeth feel very Ben Edlund-esque. And this scene is the first mention of David Bowie on Venture. It seems like a throwaway, but Bowie’s going to come up more often. Heck, he’ll become a character on the show at the end of Season Two.
