–Big things here! It’s the first mention of cloning in the series, another thing that’s going to become very important. And I love Doc’s reaction – it’s pretty clear in retrospect that there’s more going on than he’s willing to admit, but it’s handled just subtly enough that the reveal at the beginning of next season is still a surprise. It’s also our first actual flashback to Jonas Venture, shown testing amusement park rides on poor Rusty. (His previous appearance was a hallucination.) And this is where it’s made explicit that Doc is still trying to exploit his father’s work. Basically, everything we’ve assumed he’s invented was made by his father. Except for the Joy Can from last week, and you saw how that turned out. I’m still not convinced that Jonas was able to perfect human cloning, though. I mean, that’s a guy who would have cloned himself if he had the capabilities. But I’ll make my case in Season Two, as appropriate.
