–This scene is cute. I like the jaunty music and Dean’s upbeat narration, plus the physical comedy with Impossible distracting him so the rest of the Revenge Society can get into the lab. Dean’s apartment is based on Peter Parker’s horrible apartment from Spider-Man 3 (note the scene of Dean his Spider-Man pajamas climbing the wall). Everything about Dean’s life right now is depressing, but he doesn’t even notice it. I love Dean. For the obsessives, we first learned that Dean published his own newspaper in Season Three’s “Tears of a Sea Cow”. That’s where we also learned that the Monarch is a subscriber to the Venture Home News. And Dean’s use of “Excelsior!” is a reference to Marvel Comics founder Stan Lee, who’s used that as a sign-off for decades.
