–Wow. OK, Doc’s Superego is seemingly kept in a prison cell, though he can leave whenever he wants. It’s a prison of his own making. Note that Superego has a degree from State University on his wall, while the real Doc never graduated. (There’s also a shelf with pictures of the boys.) So in Doc’s head, it’s really only Thanatos, Eros, and the zombie boys who run free, while Id, Ego, and Superego keep to themselves. So Doc is mostly motivated by sex, death, and guilt, without any real moderating influences. Also, Superego is an idealized version of Doc, but not at all like the alternate universe Doc that we saw last week. Superego doesn’t resemble Jonas Venture, for one thing. He looks like a better, stronger version of Doc. And he’s not dressed in Jonas’s clothes, which we also saw last week. He’s wearing Doc’s speedsuit. He doesn’t represent an attempt for Dr. Venture to be his father – he’s the best possible version of Doc.
