Venture Brothers – Everybody Comes to Hank’s – Venture Bro

Brock: Where do you get this stuff from, Hank? I’ve never seen you read a book….

Dean: It’s weird, right?

Brock: It’s like he channels dead crazy people.

“I’ll be your partner until we solve this case, or I get completely bored doing it!” – The Alchemist

Orpheus and the Alchemist show up at HankCo, because they need a notary public (another service Hank offers). Orpheus’ ex is changing the terms of his child support agreement. Dermott, meanwhile, is having a hard time getting in touch with his mom to come pick him up, so he calls his sister Nikki. He then goes to Hank to complain about how he can’t reach his mom, so Hank leads him to the HankCo detective agency. Hank decides this is a missing person case. He puts on a fedora, which makes everything go black-and-white, and agrees to take the case. We don’t hear what Dermott says, but Hank narrates the main points, including that Dermott claims to be Brock Samson’s son. Later, the Alchemist arrives and Hank tells him about the case. (Alchemist reveals that Dermott’s mom picked him up four hours ago.) Alchemist is very excited about solving the mystery of Dermott’s parentage. Nikki shows up, and Hank, still in noir mode tells her to scram so she doesn’t get busted up. She flirts a little, which blows Hank’s mind.
