–Aw, poor Dean. I think it’s hilarious how gregarious the Outrider is, and this is a rare in-the-flesh appearance of the former Mrs. Orpheus. We’ve never heard her speak, except when the Master took her form, and then it was still H. Jon Benjamin’s voice. There’s not much to say about this scene, but Billy and Doc discussing their proms deserves its own section.

Doc makes a call that stresses out Billy. Doc doesn’t want the boys to go dateless to their prom, he explains. Since Billy is a boy genius, he was the only 12-year-old at his prom and took his mother. Doc was supposed to take Linda Lovelace, but this was long after Deep Throat, right about the time she became an anti-porn activist, so she sent Andrea Dworkin in her place. Meanwhile, Doc calls an escort agency for “six of their finest whores”. He can’t afford full-service, so finally he settles on four “just a hug” and two “half-service”. Also, he wonders if they have one in a Hawgirl costume, for Billy.
