Book Review: “I Think I Love You” by Allison Pearson

At a personal crossroads, Petra discovers something her strict German mother had kept from her all those years ago, and it sends her and Sharon on an unexpected but important journey that finds their teen and adults lives intersecting. To say anymore would give away the book’s satisfying twists and turns, which make for a fun ride.  For any of us who loved anyone from David, Donny Osmond and Duran Duran to New Kids, NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, the book reminds us of how we all struggle to navigate the confusing waters of our teens, and just how treasured those idols were to us at the time.   We can relate to the hormone fueled pangs of first crushes and first heartbreak and the urgency and importance we placed on every small detail.  Maybe it’ll help us deal with Beiber Fever a bit more patiently, knowing it’ll pass.
