We pick up where we left off two episodes back, with Hiro at the carnival, looking sadly at Charlie’s nametag. Samuel explains that Hiro can earn her freedom. It seems he wants a film from 1961 that’s in the possession of one Mohinder Suresh. Hiro knows who that is! But Samuel explains that Suresh died eight weeks ago, after that film had been destroyed. He needs Hiro to go back in time, not to save Suresh, but to save the film.
