Heroes

Heroesville: Heroes, Season 3, Episodes 8 – “Villains” (Nov 11)

Anybody else freak out a little at the ending? Yeah, it’s getting awfully dark right now.
Now, I do have to say that this was not my favorite of the flashback episodes – those are usually the best, and I feel like this episode spent too much time inserting newer characters into past events. You have to be careful with that, because you run the risk of finding out that everybody went to Super Crazy No Way College (as Hank Venture put it). Still, there are some nice payoffs that justify everything.
OK, Hiro looks really creepy with his eyes glazed over. It’s actually a little bit upsetting to see. So our guy is now viewing the past. I like to imagine that Usutu’s Memory Paste shares the same basic ingredients as Locke’s Hallucinate Your Sister’s Death Paste from Season One of Lost.
The flashbacks open 18 months ago, with Arthur Petrelli alive and well. Right off we see that Arthur and Linderman are closer than we’d long been led to believe. They’re not just business acquaintances, they’re buddies. They hang out and everything. So for Nathan to publicly go after Linderman, well, Nathan’s got a pair. He wasn’t just a “campaign contributor”, as Nathan kept insisting in Season One. It’s also clear that Arthur is in just as deep as Linderman, and in fact, is quite comfortable with killing his son if need be. Arthur calls it “Shakespearean”, which comes into play later.
