LOST Revisited: Pre-Game for “The Variable”

You know what? This is the only scene Michael has with Juliet in the entire series. Based on one of the other Missing Pieces, it’s clear that Juliet is scared of Walt. And while she may not want a kid to be trapped on the Island, she sure as heck doesn’t want that kid on the Island. Also, this scene makes it pretty clear that he wasn’t specifically ordered to kill anybody – Michael kind of took the initiative when he shot Ana Lucia and Libby. “The list” she refers to was relevant at the end of Season Two, when Michael was supposed to deliver some specific Lostaways to the Others. Also, they mention Miss Klugh (“Beatrice”). She really had a lot of buildup for somebody who so far has had only minimal plot relevance, hasn’t she?
