LOST Revisited: Pre-Game for “The Lighthouse”

If we accept that the Island has a will of its own and can influence events, and I don’t know that anybody but me accepts that, maybe the Island is trying to bring the Lostaways into sync with the versions that they’re supposed to be. Because, frankly, the Island doesn’t want to get blown up. The Island hates Timeline X. And if we can accept that an Island can make Michael’s gun misfire when he attempts suicide in America, it’s not a reach that the Island is still doing its work from the bottom of the Ocean. Or maybe the Island is still moving, as it is wont to do, and it just dumped all the detritus – buildings, statues, everything. The fact is, there are indications that something has power over Jacob and Smokey, and the Island’s as good a choice as any. In Timeline X, there’s no Jacob, there’s no Smokey, but just maybe there’s still an Island.
