In this Island scene, there are some really nice bits. Sawyer still doesn’t quite get the time jumps and wonders why Locke didn’t warn his past self and save himself some pain. Locke says that he “needed that pain” to get where he is. Note that Locke considers his current position, skipping randomly through time, as something worthy of achieving. Miles owns up about the nosebleed, and Faraday thinks it has something to do with “duration of exposure”. While Miles thinks the Lostaways have been there much longer and he’s only been there for a few days, Daniel asks “Are you sure?” Sweet! Maybe Miles really was raised on the Island. He just might be Dr. Marvin Candle’s son. So the two people who have (possibly) spent their childhood on the Island are now sick. I suspect that Faraday’s mother was a resident of the Island, but we don’t have any indication that he’s been there as a child, so he may be safe for a while yet.
