As with every season since the first, we open with somebody getting ready in the morning, and their identity is not immediately revealed. The alarm goes off at 8:15, and I think we all can spot that number right now. As in Seasons Two and Three, the person puts a vinyl record on a turntable (I believe this year’s song is “Shotgun Willie” by Willie Nelson. I might be wrong, because it’s late. Sorry.) This season, though, the record skips, which comes up again later. And it turns out it’s Dr. Marvin Candle getting ready! He of the Orientation films and multiple candle-themed names. When he gets to work, he’s shooting a film for the Arrow. We’ve never seen this one before, and apparently the Arrow is mainly there to develop strategies for dealing with The Others.
The Arrow showed up in Season Two – it was that little hole in the wall station where the folks from the Tail Section found a Bible, a glass eye, and the missing section of the Swan orientation film.
