Betty calls Don to tell him of her father’s stroke and Don seizes the opportunity to be Betty’s knight in shining armor and hurries to her side to help. At Betty’s parent’s home, Don’s father-in-law cuts to the truth in his confused state, and he nails Don perfectly …Don is alone. True, Betty’s father, following his strokes, can no longer control his thoughts and actions, but perhaps we are to reflect on how similar a man of sound mind, Don Draper, struggles with the same. I very nearly felt sorry for Don …but then I came to my senses.
