Over at the Draper household, Gene is getting weirder and angrier. Also, little Sally Draper is breaking my heart. That poor kid is just dying for some attention. (“I walked all the way here backwards.”) Bobby’s been yelled at enough that he pretty well lays low these days, but Sally is not taking Betty’s newfound self-absorption very well. It’s so sad the way she steals some of Grandpa’s money – but as we learned a couple of weeks ago, Sally doesn’t get an allowance. At her age, she’s probably never even handled money – it’s amazing she hasn’t started stealing already. (Please note that unlike the other Roundtable contributors, I don’t have children. Maybe a kid Sally’s age shouldn’t have an allowance. I don’t know. Actually, the other contributors both work in advertising, too. I’m clearly the weak link in the chain here.)
