So the question is whether or not Don is really integrating Dick Whitman into his life in some way, as he did when he indicated the name painted on Anna’s wall was his, or if he’ll have to once again deny it to avoid having his world come crashing down. Now that he’s dumped Faye–over the phone for goodness sake!–will her hurt result in the feds getting an anonymous tip about a deserter, or will she fade away forever? The former seems a little soap opera-esque for Matt Weiner, but only time will tell. The simple fact is that once Don told Faye his secret, she wasn’t going to be around much longer, no matter how much he liked her. Between knowing too much, her lack of comfort with the kids and her complete lack of cooking skills, she just wasn’t cut out to be the next Mrs. Draper.
