Betty continues to be absolutely maddening. Yes, her marriage was a mess, and there seem to be some childhood issues that she hasn’t really processed, but sooner or later, she has to take responsibility for who she is. Henry is walking around with that “I’ve made a huge mistake” face, and the kids, especially Sally, walk on eggshells around her. Watching her with Carla was just uncomfortable – Carla’s been a constant and dependable presence in their lives, and Betty fired her because of a disagreement over little Glenn. (And it’s pretty clear that Glenn is maybe a little odd, but he is not in any way a bad kid. He might not be great at picking up on social cues, but he’s a good friend for Sally.)
