The 12 Days of Christmas Episodes

The 25 Days of Christmas Episodes – Day 14 – Homicide “And All Through the House”

Homicide: Life on the Street – “And All Through the House”
Original airdate 12/26/94
The episode opens with Detective Stan Bolander decorating a Christmas tree in the Homicide offices. John Munch is typically bitter about the season, citing the inherent misery potential of Christmas. The fact that Munch is Jewish isn’t at all the source of his complaint. What bothers Munch is the seasonal obligation to be merry – if you’re depressed, you’re out of step with the rest of society, which makes you even more depressed.
Lieutenant Al Giardello finds a mysterious watch while cleaning out his desk. Nobody in the squad recognizes it, so Al puts it aside. Meanwhile, the department receives two calls – a junkie burned to death in an alley and a corpse in a Santa Claus suit.
