The Best TV Shows on TV – TV’s Moments of Joy “Catch You On the Flippity-Flip”

So what made us happy?

Cougar Town--No one will ever mistake The Cul de Sac crew for a group of Rhodes Scholars, but exactly how dumb are they? Not surprisingly, Ellie and Grayson are the smartest, and Grayson has a darn good Travis impression in his back pocket. When he gets one of those trivia games at the bar, Laurie uses Travis (via text, though she’s pretending to send constant tweets to her “Larmy”–Laurie’s Army) to beat Grayson and Ellie, who are furious.  I mean, this is the woman who told them she believes Ben Franklin invented baseball, was an amazing president and also invented the first wig.  Also, she was pretty sure John Hancock wasn’t a real person, but rather a sex act.  But the prize may go to Jules, who was embarrassed in front of an elementary school class by reciting The Pledge of Allegiance so that it includes the phrase “to the Republic for Richard Stands”, the guy she has always thought wrote the thing, and “Invisible with liberty and justice for all.”  Because God is invisible.  Sometimes, we think it’s a good thing she’s so pretty.  In the meantime, Bobby went to his first pro golf tournament in years, and ended up hitting another golfer’s ball onto the green.  He will go down in PGA lore as Bobby “Wrong Balls” Cox, and he couldn’t be happier.
