–So, this is the first time we learn that Doc and Pete went to college together, and it establishes that Professor Impossible taught there. We also know that Underbheit was Doc’s lab partner. In a couple of episodes, we’ll be adding several more cast members to Doc’s college years. Professor Richard Impossible previously appeared in “Tag Sale, You’re It!”, but he was in the background and didn’t have any lines. He is a dead ringer for Mr. Fantastic from Marvel’s Fantastic Four. The I-suits are slightly modified FF uniforms, and Impossible has the same hair and stretching powers as Reed Richards. (Reed even used to smoke a pipe in the old days, just like Impossible.) He is voiced by Stephen Colbert, who back in these days was still on The Daily Show and doing voice work for Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law. Oh, the Impossible logo is almost exactly the same as the insignia from Pixar’s The Incredibles. This episode came out about a month before the movie, and you can’t copyright a lower-case letter, but I’d be curious to know if Disney had anything to say about this. Sure, the facts may support Jackson and Doc, but the Mouse has better lawyers than the Astrobase does.
