“Bad Man make Cody cry hurt!” – Ned
Doc freaks out. Sally tries to explain, but he runs off to find Pete and Billy. He stumbles into a room where there’s a comatose young blond man wearing an Impossible uniform, sealed in some sort of tube. Doc accidentally opens the tube, and the young man catches fire. He awakens, screaming in pain. A giant, lumpy man enters and returns him to the tube. Then he yells at Dr. Venture. Sally shows up to calm him down, just before Doc knocks himself out trying to run away.
–And those are the rest of the Impossibles. Cody, the Human Torch analogue, catches fire when exposed to oxygen. (Which is actually the set-up for the original 40s version of the Torch, only he was a robot so he didn’t spend every moment of his life in agony.) Ned, their version of the Thing, is basically a walking bruise, as if he’s made entirely of calluses. He’s very strong and durable, but he’s in pain most of the time. He’s also mentally impaired.
