All the activity plays havoc on Doc’s bloodstream, and both subs are thrown around. The Monarch arrives in the operating room and knocks out Sgt. Hatred, though he’s not sure who Billy and White are. (He finally remembers that he and White went to college together, and he used to listen to White’s radio show.”) After reminiscing, Monarch tranqs the two of them and tries to wake Doc up. The X-3 bouncing around in his brain causes a muscle spasm and makes Doc punch the Monarch. Another spasm makes him sit up, and we can see that Shore leave and the sub are perched on his tear duct. The Monarch lassos Doc and flies off with him.
