Hines & Kym (27/30)--I liked their waltz to “End of the Road” better than Romeo’s. It had a lot more life and spark to it. Len loved it. Bruno pointed out their chemistry. Carrie Ann thought it looked like Hines was “thinking to much”, however, which I suppose is valid, but I didn’t see it. They are major contenders; I’d say the team to beat. I wonder if the producers kind of hate how competent, well-adjusted and drama free this pair is. Seems like the kind of thing that would really piss off reality show producers.
Kirstie & Maks (26/30)--They started things off with a samba to “Hit Me Baby, One More Time” which I will admit to rockin’ out to in the car (again, “wheelhouse”). They’re having a blast and Kirstie’s technique on the basics is pretty good. There are several points, though, where I can see her really looking to Maks for the next move and it makes her timing just slightly off. The samba rolls and her shakes and shimmies were good. Len loved it. Bruno said she made it look easy. Carrie Ann said she’s back and says she wants to see her in the finals. Well, I guess I saw something a little different. I mean, I didn’t hate it by any means, but I wasn’t sure it was as strong as they thought.
Guilty pleasures only works for you if you did, in fact, feel guilty about any of it.
