But we “get it.” And we love it. Lane, our “man without a country”, was yet another character this season to tell Don how naturally great he is and how, like those kids at school that just seem to naturally attract friends, trouble, and success – Don is the physical emobodiment of that aura – or that evil. I can’t decide if the writers are creating a mythical “perfect man” in Don and showing his scars and pain as therapy for never getting the pretty girls themselves, or if they simply recognize that sometimes a person who appears to have it all, has less than nothing. And maybe, in Hollywood, the writers have seen that too many times as well.
