11. 30 Rock – Liz Lemon and the rest of the TGS crew were as funny as ever this year. Still TV’s finest source of prime-time surrealism, this was a great year that gave us Jack’s impending fatherhood, Tracy Jordan making progress in his quest for the fabled EGOT, and a twisted live episode with the very first “too soon” joke about the rescued Chilean miners. This is a show that knows how to make the best of its guest stars, with Jon Hamm, Jason Sudeikis, and Dean Winters returning once again as Liz’s exes, Elizabeth Banks as the mother-to-be of Jack Donaghy’s child, Paul Giamatti as a film editor with inappropriate interests, Will Forte as Jenna’s crossdressing boyfriend, and Matt Damon as Liz’s current boyfriend, an airline pilot named Carol. This year gave us Jack’s Reaganing, Liz’s perfect jeans, and two babies having a hammer fight inside a dumpster. Another great year for the show with the highest laughs per minute ratio around. I’m running out of ways to talk about how funny 30 Rock is by now, but trust me, it’s really funny.
